The Internet Strikes Back #OpMegaupload Anonymous on Operation Megaupload: “A new era has come”

Within minutes of the site being shut down, and DOJ releasing its statement, Anonymous sprang into action and started taking down a ton of sites -- including websites for the DOJ, the US Copyright Office, Universal Music, the RIAA, the MPAA and a bunch of other sites.

Anonymous launches largest attack ever, crippling government and music industry sites. Hacktivists with the collective Anonymous are waging an attack on the website for the White House after successfully breaking the sites for the Department of Justice, Universal Music Group, RIAA and Motion Picture Association of America.

Many members of Congress have just changed their stance on the controversial Stop Online Piracy Act, or SOPA, the raid on Megaupload Thursday proved that the feds don’t need SOPA or its sister legislation, PIPA, in order to pose a blow to the Web.

هل عانيت اليوم من مشاكل في التعامل مع موقع «Wikipedia»؟.. ربما لأن الموقع يشارك في يوم الاحتجاب العالمي على الإنترنت، احتجاجًا على محاولة تفعيل قانونين لمكافحة القرصنة بالولايات المتحدة، ترى مجموعة من الشركات والمواقع أنه «سيقيد الإنترنت ويجعله مكانا مغلقا وتحت الرقابة».

القانونان هما «SOPA» أو «Stop Online Piracy Act»، أي وقف القرصنة على الإنترنت، و«PIPA» أو «Protect IP Act» أي قانون حماية الملكية الفكرية، وربما يبدو الأمر محاولة للقضاء على أعمال القرصنة، لكن محتوى القانونين كان محبطا للعديد من شركات الإنترنت.

وقررت مجموعة من مواقع الإنترنت الاحتجاب بشكل كلي أو جزئي عن الظهور على الإنترنت واستبدلت محتواها برسائل تدعو فيها للتوقف عن مساند قوانين القرصنة.

البداية كانت مع موقع «Wikipedia» الشهير الذي وضع رسالة على الموقع كتب فيها «الإنترنت الحر هو ما ساعد مجموعة من الشباب منذ عقد تقريبًا أن يعملوا سويًا من أجل خلق مكان لتجميع مليارات المعلومات لتصبح متاحة للجميع، أما القوانين التي يتم السعي لإصدارها الآن فإنها ستجعل الإنترنت مكانا مغلقا ومعرضا للرقابة».
وأنهى الموقع رسالته، التي جاءت على خلفية سوداء، شارحا القوانين ويسعى لجمع توقيعات لرفضها.
واشتركت عدة مواقع في الاعتراض اليوم منها Reddit، BoingBoing،Mozilla،WordPress،TwitPicوMoveOn.org.



وأبدت «جوجل» مساندتها القوية للقانون بوضعها إعلان صغير على صفحتها الرئيسية التي تخلو من الإعلانات، تدعو فيه مستخدميها إلى الاتصال بنائبيهم في الكونجرس الأمريكي، لحثهم على رفض القانون.
فيما أبدت مواقع أخرى مثل «فيس بوك» و«تويتر» رفضهما للقانون، لكن دون أن تفعل شيئا.



ما هي قوانين مكافحة القرصنة؟

-القوانين الجديدة، التي يتم إصدارها الآن، ليست الوحيدة المرتبطة بمكافحة القرصنة، فهناك قانون DMCA، وهو قانون حقوق الملكية الفكرية الرقمية، والذي يتم من خلاله حذف أي محتوى على الإنترنت له حقوق ملكية فكرية، ولا يتم توزيعه من خلال صاحب هذا الحق.

أما القانونان الجديدان، فالغرض منهما هو إغلاق المنصة أو الموقع نفسه وليس حذف المحتوى فقط.
وسيمنح قانونا SOPA و PIPA لوزارة العدل الأمريكية الحق في إغلاق أو منع تمويل أي موقع ترى أنه يعمل على انتهاك حقوق الملكية الفكرية أو يعرض موادَّ مقرصنة.

وموقع مثل «Pirates Bay» الشهير سيتم إجبار شركات خدمات الإنترنت في الولايات المتحدة على منع ظهوره عند مستخدميه وستجبر شركات البطاقات الائتمانية والإعلانات على قطع صلاتها بالموقع بشكل نهائي.
مؤيدو القانون ومعارضوه

يقف منتجو المواد الترفيهية على رأس قائمة المساندين لهذا القانون، فهم يرون أن لهم الحق في الدفاع عن منتجاتهم التي تجلب دخلا سنويًا للولايات المتحدة يتخطى 7.7 تريليون دولار ويعمل فيها أكثر من 19 مليون مواطن أمريكي.
وتساند مجموعات، مثل MPAA، وهي رابطة الأفلام الأمريكية، وغرف التجارة الأمريكية والعديد من ممثلي مجموعات رجال الأعمال، القانون بشدة، ويرون أنه السبيل الوحيد للقضاء على القرصنة وزيادة مكاسبهم وسط حالة الكساد تهدد العالم وتهدد صناعاتهم.



وقال كريس دود، رئيس رابطة الأفلام الأمريكية، عن احتجاب المواقع اليوم على الإنترنت «إنها حيلة خائبة».
فيما تقف شركات الإنترنت بشكل أساسي أمام حزمة القوانين الخاصة بالقرصنة، فهي ترى أنها تنجح، لأن الإنترنت سوق ديمقراطية به الكثير من الحرية تجعل كل الأفكار قابلة للنجاح طالما استقبلها الجمهور بشكل جيد.
أما إصدار قوانين تمكن الحكومة من إغلاق المواقع أو فرض مجموعة من العقوبات القاسية عليها، فسيمنع ظهور شركات جديدة ومواقع بأفكار غير تقليدية، مما سيجعل الإنترنت مكانا مغلق، بحسب تصريحات الكثير منهم، وربما يتحول لسجن سيهرب منه حينها مستخدموه، بحثًا عن مكان به حرية أكبر.

megaUpload, one of the largest file-sharing sites on the Internet, has been Shut down by federal prosecutors in Virginia. The site’s founder Kim Dotcom and three others were arrested by the police in New Zealand at the request of US authorities. MegaVideo, the streaming site belonging to same company, and a total of 18 domains connected to the Mega company were seized and datacenters in three countries raided.

megauploadJust a few weeks ago, megaupload founder Kim Dotcom told TorrentFreak that his Mega ventures have nothing to worry about, as they operate within the rules of the law.

“Mega has nothing to fear. Our business is legitimate and protected by the DMCA and similar laws around the world. We work with the best lawyers and play by the rules.

“We take our legal obligations seriously. Mega’s war chest is full and we have strong supporters backing us,” Dotcom said.

But behind the scenes powerful forces were at work, plotting the forceful demise of MegaUpload, one of the world’s biggest websites.

An indictment unsealed today by the Department of Justice claims that megaupload has caused the entertainment industries more than $500 million in lost revenue and generated $175 million “in criminal proceeds.”

Two corporations – megaupload Limited and Vestor Limited – were indicted by a grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia on January 5th, 2012, and charged with “engaging in a racketeering conspiracy, conspiring to commit copyright infringement, conspiring to commit money laundering and two substantive counts of criminal copyright infringement.”

Today, the authorities executed in excess of 20 search warrants in the United States and eight other countries.

Data centers in the Netherlands, Canada and Washington housing MegaUpload’s equipment were raided. In an apparent reference to the latter location, a source has just informed TorrentFreak that the FBI are currently detaining everyone at the ISP Cogent Communications’ headquarters in Washington DC, in connection with a Mega-related search warrant.

In addition to megaupload founder Kim Dotcom who was arrested today in New Zealand, another six alleged members of the Mega “conspiracy” were charged in the indictment:

• Finn Batato, 38, a citizen and resident of Germany, who is the chief marketing officer;
• Julius Bencko, 35, a citizen and resident of Slovakia, who is the graphic designer;
• Sven Echternach, 39, a citizen and resident of Germany, who is the head of business development;
• Mathias Ortmann, 40, a citizen of Germany and resident of both Germany and Hong Kong, who is the chief technical officer, co-founder and director;
• Andrus Nomm, 32, a citizen of Estonia and resident of both Turkey and Estonia, who is a software programmer and head of the development software division;
• Bram van der Kolk, aka Bramos, 29, a Dutch citizen and resident of both the Netherlands and New Zealand, who oversees programming and the underlying network structure for the Mega websites.

Dotcom, Batato, Ortmann and van der Kolk were arrested today in Auckland, New Zealand, by authorities there. Bencko, Echternach and Nomm are still at large.

The authorities seized approximately $50 million in assets, which appears to include Kim Dotcom’s treasured car collection as detailed below.

لائحة اتهام كشف عنها النقاب اليوم عن وزارة العدل أن يدعي افلام تسببت في الصناعات الترفيهية أكثر من 500 مليون دولار من العائدات المفقودة ولدت 175 مليون دولار "في العائدات الاجرامية".

تم اتهام من قبل هيئة محلفين كبرى في المنطقة الشرقية من ولاية فرجينيا في 5 يناير 2012 ، ووجهت إليه تهمة "الاشتراك في مؤامرة الابتزاز والتآمر لارتكاب التعدي على حق المؤلف والتآمر لارتكاب عمليات غسل الأموال واثنان -- شركتين -- افلام المحدودة والمحدودة Vestor الموضوعية تهم جنائية التعدي على حق المؤلف ".

Nokia Lumia 710 now shipping review and specifations

It's been a few months coming, but today, Nokia announced that its Lumia 710 handset has finally hit store shelves in Taiwan, ahead of its broader international release.
