42Mbps HSPA+ network to 56 new markets

Ready for another round of speed bumps, T-Mobile customers? Good, because the carrier announced last night that its increasing the speed of its HSPA+ network to 42Mbps in 56 additional markets beginning today. The full list of newly-minted 42Mbps cities is available below.

With this latest expansion, T-Mobile's 42Mbps network now covers 170 million people in 152 different markets, which is nothing to sneeze at. Unfortunately, there aren't any phones in T-Mobile's roster that can actually take advantage of the speedy network, but T-Mo has promised that that'll be changing later this year. So, anyone out there a new member of the T-Mobile 42Mbps HSPA+ club?

T-Mobile’s Faster 4G Network Now Available in More Locations

BELLEVUE, Wash. — July 13, 2011 —  Today, T-Mobile USA, Inc. announced that the company is doubling the speed of its 4G network in 56 additional markets, to reach more than 170 million people in 152 markets. T-Mobile customers now have access to T-Mobile’s faster 4G network in markets including Baltimore; Boston; Charlotte, N.C.; Hartford and New Haven, Conn.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Lancaster, Pa.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Providence, R.I.; and Washington, D.C., among several others. In addition to T-Mobile customers experiencing speeds twice as fast as T-Mobile’s current 4G network on compatible devices, customers also will enjoy increased network capacity and reliability.
